Conan gets sued, Cars, What's your Scary Movie? and Half Life short

Welcome back to MMB for your
bi-weekly injection of  movie news!
Don't worry, the needle is sterile.

I heed you welcome to this amazing post. Why it's so amazing you say? Let me say this: it's as amazing as a Libyan Rebel Force taking over Tripoli and ending a 42 year regime in six months time! Oh, wait, i'm getting interrupted by something...

* SUDDENLY A NEW FILM STATE EPISODE APPEARS. FILMSTATE USED AWESOMENESS. IT'S SUPEREFFECTIVE!*
Huh? The title and items looks exactly like my earlier post [Click here to see the old post]
Hehe, well done FilmState, Well done! CHANNUG THATERHHM

Stan Lee sues  'Conan The Suesarian'

Stan Lee Media, Inc. says that it's still the rightful owner of the character Conan the Barbarian. The company is owned by comic book writer Stan Lee.

Stan Lee demands 100 percent of the film’s proceeds. The company claims that its bankruptcy (2001) would have prevented anyone from taking the rights to the Conan character away.

Stan Lee Media, Inc. claims the company was betrayed by a former lawyer who made an illegal deal to transfer the rights to another company that would later green-light Conan The Barbarian.
It's a bit confusing but hell, if it means better movies in the future, go sue em Stan Lee!

Dark Knight Rises newspaper ad thanks Pittsburgh for shooting

Christopher Nolan's production used a newspaper advert to thank Pittsburgh now that shooting has ended.

Nolan and the producers wanted to show their appreciation for using the city as set. ut don't think that this is the end of the spoiler videos! More shoots are still to come ( NY and LA ).

There was a little huss around trees that had to be removed for the film but the producers are giving a $20000 donation to group Tree Pittsburgh. And the trees are getting replaced.

Chris Nolan should pay me for hyping up this movie so much. Seriously, there's something about the Dark Knight Rises in nearly every post.

Disney Factory planning to create Cars spin-offs?

Disney plans ahead with a whole spin-offs series for Cars. First one is Planes. Amazing?
John Lasseter has given a small introduction to Planes at the D23 Expo. The film will be set in the same universe as Cars.

“We're creating]an entirely new film set in the world of Cars but it's about the different vehicles. The first one we're doing from the Disney Toon Studios is called Planes.” He kept on talking about the Cars universe that is really big. It seems his inspiration is not yet dry. “When I look out of my window when I'm driving I see a whole other set of characters.”
The main character of Planes is  Dusty( Jon Cryer ), a single-prop agriculture plane who lives in a small town .Will he be able to be as strong as his heroes?

Jon Cryer igives is voice to Dusty. Yes it's the other dude from Two And a Half Men who hasn't got laid in eight seasons.“To be a part of the Cars universe is so ridiculous,” Cryer said as he joined Lasseter on stage. “If you guys ever get a chance to do a voice character in a Disney movie, do it because it's awesome.”

So, what's next? Oldtimers, Bikes, Tie Fighter, Truck, submarine, boats,...

New Puss In Boots motion poster

Ok i'm not going to make a big puss about it. ( See what i did there, i replaced fuss with puss. I'm the King of terrible puns ) Here's the cute promo for the Shrek spin-off.

As i would love to share this one immediatly on the site, it does not work at the moment. My apologies for this burden
http://www.fandango.com/movieblog/exclusive-puss-in-boots-motion-poster-premiere-674750.html

Antonio Banderas returns to voice the zorro kitty, Salma Hayek also stars as feline companion Kitty Softpaws, while Zach Galifianakis lends his vocal talents to Humpty Dumpty.

The poster shows the charismatic hero momentarily forgetting he’s supposed to be a sword slinging vigilante and not a playful house-cat. Silly Puss.

Scary Movie 5

A shitty summer, economical crises, London riots, the last Potter movie, Bin Laden caught, Charlie Sheen, Kadhaffi and his regime are down... yup, enough material to make a new Scary Movie!

Dimension Films are reportedly hard at work resurrecting the spoof series and there are offers on the table that might bring back the original cast. And please, Bring Sheen back.

So far, the cast members to receive offers are Regina Hall (Scary Movie 1-4), Anthony Anderson (Scary Movie 3-4) and Kevin Hart (Scary Movie 3-4).

No other details have been confirmed as yet, although remarkably, Dimension have stuck their neck out and pinned  the project with a release date of 20 April 2012. Great?

Half Life: Escape From City 17 - Part Two

This news is still hot. Thirty minutes ago, it appeared out of nothing in my subscribe box. Two years ago, the Purchase Brothers surprised the world with Part One. Now they're back!

  3. Enough scary movies already. And poor Stan Lee, he's old and totally out of his freaking mind. It's funny and sad, mostly sad.

  4. Scary Movie didn't exactly die, it just seems there wasn't enough horror movies for them to take the piss out of, so you got Epic Movie and Meet The Spartans instead. I think they were all done by the same people at least.

  12. I think Stan Lee won't get much with those 100 percent of the film’s proceeds since, unfortunately, the film flopped at the boxoffice even though it's not bad at all.

  13. Shame the Conan film flopped, I'm a big fan of the Robert E Howard books. Stan Lee created some great comics but is a bit of a dickhead.
