James Cameron talks about Avatar sequels

Director James Cameron has talked about how he’s approaching the scripts for Avatar 2 and 3, revealing he’s not forming them as a proper trilogy.

“We’re shooting two films back-to-back,” he tells Fox News, “so I’m writing two scripts, not one, which will complete a free-film story arc.

“Not really a trilogy, but just an overall character arc so I’m pretty excited about that.”

The filmmaker’s first Avatar film opened in December 2009 and went on to become the highest grossing film ever made – even trumping Cameron’s own Titanic.

“There’s always an expectation,” he says. “I had to deal with that after The Terminator back in 1984. All of a sudden I had a big hit movie and it was, ‘What are you doing next?’

“But my job is take the audience on a journey and entertain them. The second I am sitting down writing, I just go to Pandora.

“I don’t think about that stuff, about standing on a red carpet. It has its own life, really. The characters have their own lives.”
Avatar 2 opens December 2014, while Avatar 3 opens December 2015.

First official images of Bilbo Baggins arrives

The first images of Martin Freeman playing Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit have landed online.
The pictures show Martin Freeman and Sir Ian McKellen, reprising his role as Gandalf, as well as a shot of director Peter Jackson and Freeman on set.

From the looks of things, Jackson is keeping the same look, tone and feel in The Hobbit as The Lord Of The Rings trilogy, and quite rightly so.

The Hobbit is currently filming in New Zealand and will be split into a 2-part saga. The first film, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is set for a December 2012 release.

 

Jamie Foxx lands Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained

Jamie Foxx has landed the lead role in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained.

Being touted as a ‘Southern’, Unchained will reportedly play with western movie tropes and relocate them to the Deep South.

Foxx will play a freed slave who attempts to save his lover from a malicious plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio).

He’s aided in that quest by a German bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz).

Previously, Tarantino offered the slave role to Will Smith, who graciously turned it down. After meeting with Idris Elba, Terrence Howard and Chris Tucker, Tarantino finally settled on Foxx.
Though it's disappointing that neither Smith nor Elba will get to tackle the role, Foxx is a fine replacement.

Django Unchained opens 25 December 2012.

Hmm, December 2012 is going to be a beautiful month. Let's hope our local cinema's will not be destroyed after 4 days of raining meteors, floods and other shit. I wanna see Django!

The Dictator, It All Ends for Potter and Django gets a release date

The first official image of Sacha Baron Cohen in his new film The Dictator has been released.

The Dictator has Cohen re-teaming with director Larry Charles, with whom he made both Bruno and Borat.It's not based on a character Cohen created for The Ali G Show, though, instead taking its cue from Saddam Hussein’s book Zabibah And The King.
The plot follows a dictator who risks his life to make sure that democracy never infects his country. Ben Kingsley and Anna Faris also star.

New Voldemort poster for HP Part 2

A new Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 poster has appeared, this time featuring the villains. 

This time Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) teams up with Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham Carter) and Lucius Malfoy (Jason Isaacs)

Pegg and Wright to write The World's End 'very soon'

In an interview with Ain’t It Cool News, he said that he and Edgar Wright are going to start on a first draft “very, very soon”.

Pegg  gave some information on what the film might be like. He said they’re going to do “something very different.”

"Edgar and me have been very determined - that we're going to start in earnest very, very soon.

"Not just do the same thing again, to do something very different. Not to the point of alienating people who want something, but just give people something new and something different.

"You can't just stay where you are forever. You have to mutate to survive, and I think we're going to make sure that we do that. I'd hate to become stale and predictable.

"People are already making films that are kind of like the sort of thing we might do. I want to stay a little bit ahead of the curve at least."

Tarantino's Django Unchained set for Christmas 2012

The release date is probably only for the US, but the UK release date is likely to be close to that.

Django Unchained follows the story of a freed American slave who teams up with a German bounty hunter to save his wife from Calvin Candie, an evil plantation owner.

The film has so far almost recruited Christoph Waltz, Samuel L Jackson and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Jamie Foxx is now rumoured to be the frontrunner for the role of Django, with Idris Elba and Chris Tucker also circling the role.

Tarantino released Jackie Brown around Christmas in 1997, but in 2012 he has The Hobbit, Man of Steel (Superman), Star Trek 2 and Life of Pi (Ang Lee's latest) to contend with. It's going to be a mad mad Christmas.

E3 Time: Assassin's Battlefield Dovahkiin 3 and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

llo once again MovieMonsters! ( If Lady Gaga can call her fans "little monsters, then i can call you MovieMonsters! :) ) As you might know, i'm in the middle of exams and i couldn't go to E3( sadface). There are also less and less posts here but i'm trying to work on that! Don't you worry, i won't abandon you!

Let's start the day off with an exciting new trailer that blew my mind. No, i'm not talking about Skyrim( My balls imploded when i saw that trailer a few months ago) but i'm talking about the new Assassin's Creed: Revelations. I've recently finished Brotherhood but i still have some DLC left( Da Vinci). Brotherhood was the same colorful scheme like AC II, with really nice tweaks and new fun elements. And the multiplayer was refreshing...but also boring after a while. I really hope they change the multiplayer to a more action packed version. 

This trailer was amazing. Now why do i post this in a movie blog? It's mainly because the trailer just looks like a movie. I would love to see that in 3D. Still, it's probably because everybody "bonded" with Ezio. If they start with a new character in AC3 then it will probably take some time to get used to the new person. And maybe that's why a real movie would not work. No idea to be honest :D Anyway, lets show you the trailer. ( The song is from Woodkid- Iron: + 1 million views to his video clip :p)  

Another trailer i'd like to talk about is Skyrim Battlefield 3. Yes it's going to be a murder party. Yes it's finally going to slay that fucking COD lame ass game. It's going to be tasteful! Tastes like war? Tastes like delicious revenge on Modern Poopfare!!

Leonardo DiCaprio to play main villain in Django Unchained?

If Twitter rumours turn out to be true, then Leonardo DiCaprio may have landed the part of main villain Calvin Candie in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained.

The tweet, which came from Creative Screenwriting editor Jeff Goldsmith, appeared on Monday night, saying: “DiCaprio WILL play villian Calvin Candie in Tarantino‘s Django Unchained!” It went on to say: “QT wanted him for I.B. & now has him!”
While we've been waiting for this to be either confirmed or denied, bloggers noted yesterday that Goldsmith was also responsible for breaking the news of Will Smith's involvement (as the titular slave-hero Django).

At least it looks like Goldsmith's hype-building tweets may at least hold some truth; it appears that Will Smith is indeed in talks, though Idris Elba has also emerged as a favourite for the part.

Django Unchained has room enough for both actors, with Waltz confirmed for the role of Dr Shulz, leaving main villain Calvin Candie open for DiCaprio.


With Christoph Waltz and either Idris Elba or Will Smith on board, Django Unchained looks set to vie with The Dark Knight Rises for most anticipated film over the next 12 months.

Note: It's probably been since The Quick And The Dead that we saw Dicaprio in a western.

The Hobbit titles and release dates announced

Part one is entitled The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and will be released on 14 December 2012, while part two is entitled The Hobbit: There And Back Again, and will be released 13 December 2013.

Both titles are in keeping with JRR Tolkien’s original tome, with There And Back Again being the alternate title that the author used for his 1937 book.

Meanwhile, An Unexpected Journey is a reference to An Unexpected Party, the title of the first chapter of The Hobbit.

Jackson also confirmed during an online Q&A session that the White Council will be appearing in the Hobbit films. “I will confirm that both the White Council and Dol Guldur will feature in the movies,” he says of the Council.

“And not just in one scene either. Just how to visualise it has been a challenge, but fortunately Alan Lee and John Howe went crazy with ideas, and it should look pretty cool.”

Hangover 3 is already heading our way

The Hangover: Part II smashed all sorts of records this weekend, snatching a hefty $200m at the worldwide box office.

Which means one word is currently echoing around the corridors at Warner Bros – “threequel!”

Now, Hangover II scribe Craig Mazin is being courted by WB to pen a third (and possibly final) instalment in the boozy franchise.

No word on the plot yet, though with Phillips clearly up for a third round of carnage, the only thing potentially standing in the way of a third Hangover could be the film’s stars.

Zach Galifianakis was constantly, vocally negative about Hangover II during filming, which means he could be nervous about a third, typecasting trip with the boys.

Considering the amount of money Hangover II’s made, though, Galifianakis, Brad Cooper and Ed Helms can basically ask for any sum they want...

Good day everyone. As you might have already notices, i'm AFB( Away From Blog). This means that i will post less the coming weeks. Just wanna let you know that i'm not shot by criminals/cops/abducted and probed by aliens/ raped/ killed/ in jail/ Running naked in NYC.

Also, on a serious matter now, i've been writing a small idea on my other blog. It's about my theory of Death. Everything i wrote did happen to me. It's very darkish and i hope you can share your opinion on the subject. And today i saw an episode of The Big Bang Theory, where Sheldon talked about the topic( Immortality by putting yourself in a machine, although my suggestion is a bit different)

Steven Spielberg - Peter Jackson co-production gets a trailer

The first teaser trailer for Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin has finally hit the web.

With so little of the movie revealed in the slow-burn marketing, this is the first time we've even had a proper glimpse of our hero's face.


The trailer's at its best when it's lurking in the ominous shadows, making the movie look like it could be a family adventure with real menace.

While the scenery looks undeniably stunning, there's still something disconcertingly lifeless the faces, though to be fair there's not a huge amount of fizzogs on display so perhaps Spielberg and co are still working on it.


The story is written by Steven Moffat( DOCTOR WHO) and Edgar Wright( Scott Pilgrim, HOT FUZZ, SHAUN OTD), PEter jackson is the producer and it will star Jamie Bell as the young reporter,  Daniel Craig, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

Personally, i'm really thrilled about this. The worldpremière will be on 26th october  2011 in BELGIUM. which is pretty logical. Americans have to wait until 23 december 2011. This is the list with the release dates: http://www.tintin-movie.net/international/

American remake "LOFT" shows its cast

New Orleans are turning American remake of Loft. Wentworth Miller, actor from the hit series Prison Break, was recently added to the list actor.

It looks as though the American Loft is on the right track. By Erik Van Looy, currently residing in the U.S., we learn that "everything goes with the movie" and he adds: "Perhaps we begin to run on June 6 in New Orleans. Or the whole movie in the sultry atmosphere of the southern United States is running, is unclear.

Van Looy also added two new names to their list actor: Wentworth Miller and Eric Stone Street. New Yorker Miller is best known for the blockbuster series Prison Break, but he also appeared on ER and Buffy the vampire slayer and he also starred in Resident evil: the afterlife. Eric Stone Street is best known American TV series of the Modern Damily. He is also one of the actors from the upcoming Muppets movie.

Previously it was known that Patrick Wilson, who earlier in the A-Team remake played, and James Marsden, known from X-Men, a role in the American version of the movie, in 2008 our most successful Flemish film ever was, with 1,186,000 viewers.

If everything goes according to plan, the Loft-American with a budget of 15 million U.S. dollars hangs during 2012-in theaters are. Given the success of Flemish Loft in 2008, it could be that the American version comes in our room. The strong basic story is already unchanged: five men renting a loft together where they secretly meet their mistresses. When she's on a bad day the corpse of an unknown woman found in the loft, they begin to suspect each other.

A new name was added yesterday. Matthias Schoenaerts, the actor who played Philip in the Flemish version, will play the same character in the remake. This is fantastic news for the film. One of Belgian's finest actors is getting launched in the Hollywood scène, together with Erik Van Looy. Erik Van Looy was given the director seat for Street Kings with Keanu Reeves but he refused. Talk about making good decisions.
